I've never been a big fan of cookies (except chocolate chip ..and snickerdoodles ...and Girl Scout cookies) but I understand the benefit that they provide as an internet user and, more importantly, as a marketer.

I read with interest the article in MediaPost about online holiday shopping on Black Friday and the "Big 5 weekend". Since I wasn't a big fan of the retailers opening their stores on Thanksgiving (Ok, I get it, everyone is competing for the revenue - but come on, let people enjoy the holiday with the families - but that's just me.) the mobile numbers were of interest to me.
Sure the number of followers to your site is important. I mean who doesn't want a million followers? Ashton Kutcher was the first to hit a million, now Lady Gaga has over 30 million - but is it all about numbers when you are a business?
